MB2Palooza was first held over five years ago. All of our doctors in the organization met for clinical and professional development. We are excited to have brought back this special event for our Associate dentists!
This year at MB2Palooza, a select group of associates were invited to attend a two-day exclusive event in Carrollton, Texas at our MB2 office. At this time, the MB2 office is undergoing a complete makeover and therefore has a lot of construction going on. However, even in its messy state, it was important to CEO & Founder Dr. V to host at least part of the event at his “home”—onsite at MB2. MB2Palooza is a great opportunity for associates to become acquainted with Dr. V, some of MB2’s original Doctor Partners, and the executives who heads up all the departments.
The first day of MB2Palooza was kicked off with an exciting presentation by Dean Mert Aksu, DDS, JD, MHSA. Dr. Aksu serves as Dean of the School of Dentistry at the University of Detroit Mercy. He spoke on risk avoidance, risk management, and emerging trends in dentistry.
To complete day one of MB2Palooza, we were honored to have Dr. Gordon Christensen speak to our intimate audience of dentists at our very own MB2 office. Dentists were able to learn from Dr. Christensen’s vast experience. He covered wide ranging topics from dental materials to the future of dentistry. Dr. Gordon Christensen is the Founder and CEO of Practical Clinical Courses (PCC), Co-Founder and CEO for Clinicians Report Foundation (CR), and a practicing Prosthodontist in Provo, Utah. Dr. Christensen has presented over 45,000 hours of continuing education throughout the world and has published many articles and books.
Our small audience of dentists for MB2Palooza made for a different environment than one would typically find Dr. Christensen speaking in. It was a special treat to be able to hear from Dr. Christensen in a casual and classroom like setting. Associates and Owners were able to interact with Dr. Christensen and Dean Aksu in an open conversation style, where they were able to ask questions and discuss topics throughout the presentation.
Associates also got to hear from Dr. V himself to learn more about the history, benefits, and core values of MB2.
- True local doctor ownership and accountability leads to a better patient experience, clinical outcomes, and office performance.
- Just like private practice, group practice needs to be led by the dentists. Everyone else is a guest in our home.
- Dentists are more than just clinicians.
- MB2 brings the unique benefit of valuation arbitrage to dentists.
- We should protect the interest of fellow dentists in a changing market.
Day two of MB2Palooza shifted focus to all things MB2. The Associates met in small groups with the executives who head up MB2’s Finance, Business Development, and Operations departments. Dentists received the rundown of the inner workings of these departments, how they affect them as an Associate, and how they may one day partner with them as a Practice Owner. After lunch, the groups broke into a discussion panel to hear from four of our tenured Doctor Owners: Dr. Dustin McBride, Dr. Jody Gill, Dr. Patrick Beetar, and Dr. Corey Slighly.
A special thank you to our speakers Dr. Gordon Christensen and Dean Mert Aksu for traveling to Carrollton and presenting and spending time with us, our top-notch IT team for all of their hard work, as well as our sponsors: DDS Lab, 3M, Henry Schein, Zyris, BioHorizons, and Implant Concierge!
