MB2 Dental recently returned from its annual mission trip to Jamaica, where the team provided essential dental care to under-resourced communities. Led by Dr. Joseph Dove and Dr. Anthony Polk, the team delivered clinical care at three different locations over the course of two days.
“This is our eighth trip to Jamaica for the MB2 Dental Mission Trip. We started this mission in 2016, originally visiting health departments and community centers. What we realized is that those were fixed locations and that we needed to expand our mission.” – Dr. Joseph Dove, General Dentist, Tennessee
This year, MB2 was represented by 16 doctor partners and one doctor associate. Dr. Dove was accompanied by 10 team members from his practices, including assistants, hygienists, and office managers. In addition, Susan Huff, Chief of Staff at MB2 Dental, returned to serve as the executive host for the trip. Her leadership and organizational expertise were instrumental to the smooth operation of the mission and its overall positive impact.
“It really takes a village, and that’s a reflection of MB2. No egos—everyone rolling up their sleeves, working together on a common goal, and just getting the job done.” – Susan Huff, Chief of Staff, MB2 Dental
This has been MB2’s most impactful mission to date. Over 500 patients received care in two days — an increase of 150 individuals from the previous year, making this our largest outreach effort so far. Patients included community members, students from a local high school, children from two orphanages, and staff from our local partnership organizations.
“I had one lady who needed to have her tooth taken out; she was very anxious and apprehensive at first. When we were able to get her numb, the extraction went very smoothly. Afterwards, she gave me a big hug.” – Dr. Peter Pastrell, General Dentist, Oregon
MB2 Dental would like to express gratitude to its partners at Henry Schein, Midwest Dental, Patterson Dental, Benco Dental, Dental City, DDS Dental, Cadmus Dental Lab, Envista, Garrison Dental, Solventum, AM-Touch, Strauss Diamond, Medidenta, and Coltene for their generous contributions. From vital supplies to financial support, your generosity enabled our team to bring comfort, care, and relief to hundreds of patients. We could not have done it without you!
This mission trip would not be possible without the incredible support of Jamaicans Caring for Jamaicans (JCJ). We are deeply grateful for their continued partnership and for assisting with the logistics and coordination that make this trip a success year after year.
We are proud to continue this powerful tradition and are already looking forward to returning to Jamaica next year. With each trip, we aim to build stronger relationships, provide greater care, and reach even more people in need.
